(1) What is a virtual tour: A virtual tour is a simulation of a place that is actually real. It can be made up of panoramic images, hyperlinked images, and videos. Other elements such as sound effects, music, narration, and text can be used. Virtual tours are often used on computers.
(2) How you will use virtual tours in your classroom: In my classroom I could use a virtual tour as a field trip for my students. Often money can be an issue to take students on a field trip. Especially the idea of going out of state or out of the country for a field trip is somewhat unrealistic especially at the elementary level. However, the use of virtual tours opens up a whole new world for use in classrooms.
(3) Pros and cons of using virtual tours: Pros for virtual tours can be many things. Students and teacher are able to explore more. It is a new, fun, and interesting way to teach and show students different things. A con would be that not all people have access to computers. Also it may be very time consuming for teachers to prepare a virtual tour.

Hey Elena, I love the idea of using virtual tours as field trips for students. I had never thought of that before and I totally agree that if the school district does not allow teachers to take their students on field trips, virtual tours are a great secondary option. Thanks for sharing! :)
